When you’re an American/Australian couple, figuring out where (and how) to get married can feel complicated. Emily and Todd always knew one thing though — they didn’t want anyone left out. So when Emily’s parents booked an impromptu trip to Australia, it suddenly felt like the perfect time to gather everyone together at Magnolia Farm in McLaren Vale… and surprise them with a wedding the very next day. ✨

It was intimate, emotional and beautifully relaxed — soft whites and creams against golden hills, gum trees stretching overhead, and the kind of sunset that makes you stop mid-sentence. There were happy tears, long hugs, and that quiet, steady joy of “we’re really doing this.” Nothing forced, nothing stuffy. Just love, light and family — exactly how a relaxed South Australian elopement should feel. x
