As locals will know, the weather on Sunday was a stark contrast to the weather on Saturday. Whilst Saturday was beautifully warm and sunny, Sunday came with weather warnings of strong winds and rain increasing in the afternoon. Before the rain came though, the morning was full of beautiful sunshine and perfect light. The wind was already strong, picking up sand and carrying it across the landscape like a flying carpet. It also carried with it the distant and thick clouds that would later pour down rain. It really was such a gorgeous morning, and I was blessed to brave the strong winds with the gorgeous Shasti and Ruby.

What a beautiful day Saturday day was! A sunshine filled day worthy of the amazing celebration put on by Mel and Craig. Under the guise of Mel’s 30th birthday combined with an engagement party, Mel and Craig effortlessly pulled off an amazing surprise wedding to top it all off! That’s three amazing things all celebrated on the same day, talk about a big and special party!

On Sunday afternoon, with the bright sun making its way to the horizon through hazy clouds I caught up with Elizabeth, Sam and their gorgeous 3 kids Bella, Thomas and Lilly. We met at one of South Australia's beautiful National Parks in McLaren Vale, the rustic Onkaparinga Park. A very iconically South Aussie landscape complete with bounding kangaroos and vineyards. Another favourite spot of mine, among the many amazing locations around South Australia.

On Sunday morning, after 2 Sunday mornings in a row of cloudy wet weather, Laura, Jesse and I finally got together bright and early to capture some stunning early morning engagement portraits in the Adelaide CBD. Beginning at just as twilight arrived we experienced the beautiful gradual change of early morning dark to twilight to sunrise to dawn and then early morning sunshine. It's an amazing time to be awake, and an even more amazing time to create beautiful photography of a gorgeous couple in love.

On Saturday I spent a gorgeously warm and sunny May day with Terry and Courtney on their beautiful wedding day. They had booked two separate rooms at the Casavino Luxury Villas in McLaren Vale, and so were able to prepare for the day side by side but out of view. Right from the beginning there was an air of joy and excitement.

On Friday I had the joy of photographing Keith & Jolene's beautiful little Adelaide registry office wedding. As always, the ceremony was beautifully carried out, short and sweet and full of love. Following the wedding we headed out in to the glorious sunshine (made even more so by the fact we'd just had a week of heavy rain) to the Adelaide Himeji gardens. 

I met Carmel and Troy several months ago when they booked me to capture their wedding memories, shortly after we met again to create some gorgeous engagement portraits. (You can see the session on my blog here). But when we met again on Friday for their wedding day, we captured something truly beautiful. 

Last week Anne & Matthew invited me to an amazing part of the world to capture some beautiful maternity portraits. It was a journey full of many sheep and cute lambs, long stretches of ancient, rugged land, old ruins, giant whooshing wind towers and many ooooows and ahhhhhhhs. (mostly from me, haha!) It really is such a stunning part of the world, and proudly right in Anne & Matthew’s backyard.

On beautifully warm Anzac Day afternoon I met Amelia, Jesse, their gorgeous 3 month old son Dallas and two crazy, lovely dogs Bosco and Gracie. It’s so nice to have such warm days this far in to Autumn, with the warm weather mimicking the warm tones of Autumn leaves. This little family was so much fun, and full of so much love. Bosco the bulldog was a natural poser, absolutely loving the camera, while excited puppy Gracie was all about the play time and cuddles. Dallas is just adorable with his big blue eyes and shy smile, and the love his parents have for him showed through the entire afternoon.

April weddings are always beautiful, with their warm Autumn tones and temperate weather. Saturday was a little bit extra special, with extra perfect weather, clear blue skies, a golden sunshine glow and the wedding of Shey & Glen at Penny's Hill. I met Shey briefly just before the wedding, looking absolutely stunning. Elly & Elm Events had done a wonderful job setting up a stunning backdrop for the wedding ceremony, with gorgeous florals and rustic touches, and Glen waited excitedly by it.
