Natural Newborn Photography at Home in the Clare Valley

One of the lovely things about photographing people over many years is being invited back as their lives change. I first photographed Lou and Alec when they eloped, not long after we moved to Auburn. This time, I met them at home in Clare to capture the precious early days with their new little girl.

There was no complicated plan or list of must-have photographs. We simply followed the best light around their home, leaving plenty of time for feeding, settling and cuddles. We started with soft window light before the late-afternoon sun threw the most beautiful stripes across the bedroom. Obviously, I followed it. I am a moth. 😆

That’s what I love about natural newborn photography at home. Your house doesn’t need to be enormous, spotless or perfectly styled. It’s simply about remembering the tiny details, the laughter, the closeness and what life felt like as you found your rhythm together.
